DAY 2 - SIGHTSEEING IN KATHMANDU

Today after breakfast we enjoy a guided tour to several of the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu which are also listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. We visit the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambhunath) and Buddhist shrine (Bouddhanath), which is also one of the largest stupas in the world.

DAY 3 - KATHMANDU TO POKHARA AND GHANDRUG

Altitude: 1,900m/6,232ft: 1 hour drive, 3 hours trek
We fly to Pokhara early in the morning. We can catch amazing views of the Himalayas from the right side of our airplane. Upon our arrival in Pokhara, the beautiful lake city, we are rewarded with magnificent views of the Himalayas including Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhre, the five peaks of Annapurna and others. Later, we drive to Syauli Bazaar and start the trek to Ghandruk. The village is a major recruitment centre for the famous Gurkha soldiers and is the hub of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project, which promotes many varied ecological projects.

DAY 4 - GHANDRUK TO TADAPANI

Altitude: 2,590m/8,497ft: 3-4 hours
We'll be doing some steep climbing today, although not terribly much of it. The path of ascent is a scenic one, winding through forests of magnolia and rhododendron. In flowering season, the sights and scents are absolutely amazing! If you keep your eyes peeled, you'll catch sight of the Nepal gray langur monkey chirping at his peers as he passes through the treetops overhead! Tadapani is a major stopping point on the Annapurna trekking circuit, featuring stunning views of Annapurna II, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machapuchare, the famed "Fish Tail" peak.

DAY 5 - TADAPANI TO DOBATO

Altitude: 3,350m/10,990ft: 4-5 hours
After Tadapani we leave the main trail and for the next five days we will walk in a more remote area of the Annapurna region. On our trek today we get to appreciate the diverse flora and fauna of the region and of course the magnificent view of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna South. Trekking in a relatively easy trail we reach Dobato which is dominated by the excellent view of the Annapurna South. Overnight in Dobato.

DAY 6 - DOBATO TO CHISTIBUNG

Altitude: 2,975m/3,198ft) 4-5 hours
After breakfast, we descend through open ground and beautiful forest to reach the pastures of Lower Chistibung. Next, we ascend gradually through a forest before reaching Upper Chistibung which is a temporary herder's settlement. If you're lucky, you might even spot the colorful Lophophorus (Danphe), the national bird of Nepal, as well as Himalayan thar on the grassy ridge high above the trail.

DAY 7 - CHISTIBUNG TO KHOPRA RIDGE

Altitude: 3,660m/12007: 3-4 hours
We embark on a steady climb above the tree line through alpine meadows and pastures to reach Khopra. As we approach Khopra Ridge, we see the tip of Annapurna South. Upon reaching Khopra we go for a short walk down Khopra Ridge to a viewpoint overlooking Kali Gandaki river far below in this deep valley. From Khopra we also admire the stunning mountain panorama including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri and Annapurna South. Overnight in Khopra.

DAY 8 - KHOPRA RIDGE: DAY TOUR OF KHAYAR LAKE

Altitude: 4,500m/14,763ft: 10-11 hours
We begin trekking from around six in the morning towards the Kaire Lake from where we attain excellent views of the Fang and surrounding mountains. Considered to be a sacred lake by the Hindus, it is believed that bathing in the lake will help attain Nirvana. As Hinduism and Buddhism are intricately related in Nepal, we can even see a number of Hindu and Buddhist shrines on the lakeside. For those of us who do not want to walk all the way to the lake, a half day walk from Khopra can also be arranged. We have packed lunch today. Overnight in Khopra Ridge.

DAY 9 - KHOPRA RIDGE TO SWANTA VILLAGE

Altitude: 2,200m/7,217ft: 5-6 hours

DAY 10 - SWANTA TO ULLERI VIA GHOREPANI

Altitude: 2,050 m/6,725 ft): 5-6 hours

After Ghorepani we descend through rhododendron forest to Ulleri where we stay the night.

DAY 11 - ULLERI TO NAYAPUL AND POKHARA

5- 6 hours trek
On our way to Nayapul, we get to enjoy the amazing hill landscape of western Nepal. Our trek will end at Nayapul where we board our vehicle to Pokhara, the beautiful lake city. DAY 12 - SIGHTSEEING IN POKHARA AND FLY TO KATHMANDU

We leave our hotel early in the morning to visit the Shanti Stupa, a Buddhist Stupa ranked as the top second attraction in Pokhara by TripAdvisor. We then continue touring the city's landmarks including Davis Falls, Shiva Cave and the International Mountain Museum (IMM). We also do some boating in Phewa Lake, the largest lake in Pokhara and visit Bindyabasini Temple located at the center of the lake. We fly to Kathmandu in the late afternoon. TRAVEL INSURANCE

Proof of travel insurance is mandatory before starting the trek. Standard policies often only cover medical evacuation to 4000m so make sure the policy you get covers up to 6000m. We usually suggest World Nomads which costs around $125. You only need to be covered on the policy for the days you will actually be trekking.

EXTRA COSTS AND EXCLUSIONS

Nepal entry visa ($40 USD). Sleeping Bag Rental $12 and Down Jacket $12 if needed. All the meals are included on the trek but we only include breakfast while you are in Kathmandu. We suggest a tip for the guide and porter after the trek - Plan on a at least $80 (more will be appreciated). We don't include drinking water on the trek which you can buy a number of places for between $1 and $3 a bottle (it gets more expensive towards base camp). A better solution is to buy water tablets in Kathmandu for around $2 and treat the water (your guide can help you find the good places to fill your water bottle). The other things not included on the trek are like Wifi, charging batteries and hot showers. Wifi is available in some tea houses for $3 to $5 an hour. Hot Showers are also available in a few for around $4 and charging costs about $1.50 an hour. Unforeseen cost due to flight cancellation, weather conditions etc. You are responsible for extra hotel nights ($30/night) and meals in Kathmandu for any extra days in Nepal due to flight delays.

SOLO TRAVELERS

We generally don't charge solo travelers any extra fees. Solo travelers can expect their own hotel room in Kathmandu but will need to share a room with other group members during the trek. If availability allows we will arrange private rooms on the trek as well upon request. If you are a solo travelers and planning and not joining one of our group treks you will be charged an extra $10 a day for a porter.

CANCELLATION POLICIES

We understand things happen and plans change and will refund your fund minus a 25% cancelation fee. Once we have booked your flight between Kathmandu and Lukla your deposit is non-refundable.
